This page shows pictures with matching information. It is important to know we avoid making the mistake of other laser skin services such as their showing before and after pictures with the After looking perfect. Perfect is not realistic or honest so we will share pictures that are more realistic.

Additionally, we will use removing a tattoo as an example just to help you better understand the process as this also applies to age or sun damaged skin, acne etc.

Imagine a laser is used to start removing a tattoo. At that first appointment the laser may fade the tattoo color but is unlikely to 100% clear the entire tattoo. The skin must heal for 4 to maybe 6 weeks to be ready for the next appointment where the laser clears the remaining color in the tattoo.

Depending on the outcome, a 3rd appointment may be needed to work on the entire area of skin to lighten and blend so the skin where the tattoo was located blends with the surrounding skin.

The truth and reality is all people are different and their skin reacts differently. A skin laser service can suggest an estimated number of appointments. However, the reality is after each appointment your skin will heal and based on how your skin reacts will determine how many appointments or what the additional steps may be to complete the job. This is your skin! We are certain you would prefer to do this correctly and work a smart and steady process, not rush just to complete within a set number of appointments.

This picture shows the side view of a face that has sun and age damage such as the brown spots and discolored skin. The q-switch laser is used to erase or fade the brown spots as 1st step. After healing the IPL laser is used to lighten and improve the overall skin color and tone. This helps blend the skin color to look more clear. Depending on the outcome, the q-switch laser may be needed to remove any remaining spots or a few more appointments with the IPL can continue more lightening and skin color blending.

Age spot 2 before and after

The picture shows a person's chest who has years of sun damage, spots, freckles etc.

1 - The IPL laser can be used as the 1st step. The IPL can lighten and clarify this large area of skin. Imagine this person's skin looks like this over their entire body. You can imagine a plan to work one body part at a time per appointment and not try to work the entire body during one several hour appointment.

2 - Next is using the q-switch laser to remove or fade remaining spots and freckles. The plasma spark device can also remove freckles.  The result of q-switch or plasma spark can be scabs or red marks that flake off or are absorbed into the body and disappear over 2 to 4 weeks.

3 - Once the spots and freckles are mostly cleared more appointments can be scheduled to continue with the IPL laser for additional lightening blending of skin color.

4 - Once skin is improved it is wise to come back a few times per year to clear any spots or discoloring that may start to return especially if you continue going in the sun.

before and after

You can see this person has bad acne and the after picture shows the skin was improved.

A - The q-switch laser can be used to target the red and dark spots and skin damage caused by the acne. This will require 4 to 6 weeks of healing.

B - Next is using the IPL to lighten and blend skin color and heal at least 2 weeks.

C - Then, use the Q-switch laser again but with a different lens/attachment to stimulate production of more collagen. This makes the skin look more full and younger which also spreads out the acne scars making them less noticeable.

Acne before and after

The picture shows spider veins that are usually red or dark.  The q-switch laser with the 532 lens specifically targets red and dark coloring.

Same as with removing or fading a tattoo the laser dissolves the red color in the spider vein and can actually cause the vein to disappear. As with any use of the q-switch laser it may be needed to use the IPL laser as the next step to lighten and help blend skin color.

Explaining how an IPL laser removes hair.

1 - The IPL laser targets color and works better on darker hair. A person with blonde hair may not be a good candidate for laser hair removal.

2 - The IPL light beam heats the hair that is external or outside the body and kills it.

3 - This light beam also penetrates the skin surface and targets the dark colored hair follicle. This heats up and kills the follicle.

4 - The result is hair follicles that are basically killed so new hair does not grow back. Not all hair follicles will die in the 1st appointment. Sometimes hair starts to grow back slowly and thinner. This is why a 2nd appointment should be scheduled within 6 weeks to repeat the IPL treatment and possibly a 3rd appointment to finish the job and kill most hair follicles on a body part.
